Question about Japanese

Can 「けど」「が」connect two 「です」sentences or is it supposed to be just one?

Is the one or two correct?

I ask because, in this example, I was told that number one is correct, but it attaches 「けど」to 「でした」which is the past form of 「です」no? If it just supposed to be a conjugation, should the sentence not be 「先週は暇だったけど、今週は忙しそうです。」? Sorry if this is confusing, I can clarify if needed. Thank you for any time or help :)
